At first, I thought it would just be your typical rom-com, but it turned out to be a surprisingly sweet and emotional story that really hit me in all the feels. Emily Henry has this amazing talent for creating characters that feel so real, raw, and deeply human.
I highly recommend this audiobook — it’s such a treasure! I really enjoyed listening to it and found myself completely immersed. I honestly loved it so much that I can’t wait to listen again. It’s definitely one of my favorites now!
The main female character, with her sharp wit and cynicism, really resonated with me. She’s messy, guarded, and painfully relatable. And then there’s Miles—Miles! The kind of cinnamon roll hero who quietly steals your heart and makes you root for him from the very first page he appears on. Their chemistry is slow-burn perfection, and watching their relationship develop feels so genuine and earned.
I also loved the second-chance romance and the cozy, chaotic found family they create. It adds so much warmth and depth to the story, balancing out the heartbreak with moments of joy, connection, and hope.
Funny Story is funny, tender, and full of emotional nuance. It’s not just another love story — it’s the kind of book that stays with you long after you turn the last page. I really, really enjoyed it and give it five stars! 🌟
I was not an Emily Henry fan before this but now I can’t help but be excited for her next book. This was hilarious, heartwarming and raw. It was real and so beautifully imperfect I found myself itching to pick up where I left off every time I put the book down. It has immediately become one of my favorite romances I’ve read so far. I recommend this to anyone without hesitation.
