https://amzn.to/4lyIeSQ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I’m new to Agatha Christie. I love all kinds of mystery and thrillers and recently finished the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. Now I’m into the Alex Cross series by James Patterson. I just finished book 2 of Alex Cross when I decided I needed a break from modern thrillers. Honestly, with today’s authors, it feels like they have to include crazy twists, and after a while, you start guessing the wildest twist they might pull. It gets pretty predictable. I still enjoy those books, but wow, this book was such a breath of fresh air. I can’t believe I’ve never read or watched an Agatha Christie story before. I had heard of her but wasn’t really interested. That was a huge mistake.
I really recommend this audiobook. It’s so well done and kept me hooked from start to finish. I also listened to it while doing chores, and it made the whole day way more enjoyable. I honestly loved it so much!
What I especially liked about the story is how logical everything is and how smoothly it flows. Poirot’s way of solving the mystery feels like a professor walking you through a complex math problem, breaking it down step by step. You can’t move forward until each step makes sense, which I really appreciated. It’s kind of like Sherlock Holmes but way more organized, and it still keeps you on the edge of your seat. Poirot is such a likable character too. He’s empathetic to everyone but sticks to his own logic and principles. He’s very charming and gentlemanly, and I swear, reading about him almost felt like he was my mentor teaching me how to solve mysteries myself.
I highly recommend this audiobook — I really enjoyed it and it’s definitely one I’ll listen to again. It’s just so good!
