It’s about Alicia Berenson, a successful painter who is accused of brutally murdering her husband, Gabriel. After that night, Alicia goes completely mute and refuses to talk about what happened. Her silence becomes a huge mystery that grabs everyone’s attention and makes her known as “the silent patient.”
I highly recommend this audiobook — I listened to it recently and honestly loved it! The story is so gripping and kept me hooked from start to finish. The narrator does a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. I really enjoyed how the plot twists kept coming, making it impossible to put down.
Enter Theo Faber, a forensic psychologist who becomes fascinated by Alicia’s case. He takes a job at the mental institution where she’s being held, determined to help her find her voice again and figure out what really happened that night.
